NEVER OPENED, ORIGINAL & BEST OF ALL, UNSEARCHED, GUARANTEED! We received these Original Bank Wrapped Lincoln Cents all in Original shotgun style wrappers UNOPENED & TIGHTLY WRAPPED and haven't seen the light of day for 46 years now, except the end coins of course. These rolls are a little tattered & faded, but that is to be expected for 46 year old paper. Some of their rolls look pretty good BUT there's "NO WAY" that the paper should be BRAND SPANKIN' NEW & SHINY for OBW Rolls. That's because they are "NOT" Original Rolls from 1972. All of these OBW Rolls have "UNIVERSAL" on the ends of their wrappers. Searching unopened OBW rolls is the "ONLY" way to find Uncirculated treasure pieces for yourself.
We'd love to open these rolls ourself, but that would be like an ice cream salesman eating all of his own ice cream. As you can see from our pictures, both ends of these rolls are VERY TIGHTLY WRAPPED. There is no guessing whether or not these rolls have been opened & then reclosed because it is basically impossible to do that with this type of wrapper. In the past, we have obtained some so-called "unopened" OBW rolls, but could not offer them as Unopened Original Bank Wrapped rolls because they had been opened & then reclosed. "BOTH" ends of a random OBW roll are shown.
This is how OBW rolls are suppose to look. Do they think we're stupid? Some sellers only show one end, the GOOD end! Why don't they show the other end? Because it's most likely not original, that's why!
They don't show it because usually there's been some half-hearted attempt to fold the wrapper in or even hand spin the paper was made. On a TRUE OBW roll, both ends of the paper wrapper are "VERY TIGHTLY" machine folded in on both of the end coins, similar to a crimp on a shot gun shell. Don't be surprised to not get a response.
Close-up of a random roll confirms the 1972 date. Here's another little tid-bit of information that we have learned over the years. This "V" shaped, serrated edge of the paper is also how OBW rolls are suppose to look. We see some so-called OBW rolls with straight edged paper that spirals all the way from one end of the roll to the other & they're not even tightly wrapped. Specially beware of those so-called OBW Rolls labeled NJ or NY BRIDGE AUTHORITY. We have learned the hard way. Someone simply has access to those Bridge Authority paper rolls & wraps their searched left-overs, trying to pawn them off to you as OBW Rolls at a high premium.
Ictures are of 1 random roll of the 45 OBW Rolls that we have to offer. They all are as pristine as the one pictured, Guaranteed! The wrappers may be a little faded & a little tattered, but for being over 46 years old these OBW rolls are in awesome condition.
As you can see in the pictures, both ends of this random roll are original & TIGHT as a bulls butt. Any questions or concerns, send us a message.Planchet stains, contact marks & toning may also be present on end coins and/or coins within the roll. Our x-ray machine is in the shop for repairs, so it is impossible for us to know what will be discovered in the roll(s).
